How do I calculate hours worked with a lunch break?
Enter the start and end time for each day and the unpaid break in minutes. The calculator subtracts the break and totals the week in hours:minutes and decimal hours.
What counts as overtime?
Under the US federal rule (FLSA), non-exempt employees get overtime for hours over 40 in a workweek, usually at 1.5× pay. Some states, such as California, also require daily overtime. Pick the rule that matches your job.
How do I convert minutes to decimal hours for payroll?
Divide the minutes by 60: 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 hours. The calculator shows both formats for every day and the total.
